Elopement Details
It’s s a huge honor for me for help plan and photograph personalized elopements in California! Betsy and Rick, high school sweethearts who had gone their separate ways, rekindled their love a few years ago and are now inseparable. During an epic road trip through California, they planned a romantic elopement in Big Sur.
The picturesque Redwoods, cliffs and ocean views of Big Sur provided the perfect backdrop for their intimate ceremony, symbolizing a new chapter in their enduring love story. Betsy and Rick exchanged vows, making their elopement a cherished highlight of their journey. Betsy’s elopement details were deeply sentimental, including a locket with a photo of Rick from high school, a Polaroid of them at prom, and a blue ribbon from his prom tuxedo. These cherished mementos beautifully symbolized their enduring bond and the journey that brought them back together. Elopements in California are so fun, epic and romantic!
Redwood Forest Ceremony
Betsy and Rick’s Redwood elopement ceremony was a profoundly intimate and private affair, allowing their truest emotions to shine through. The towering redwoods created a magical backdrop as I captured moments of Betsy and Rick in both tears and laughter, reflecting the deep love and connection between them. The privacy of the elopement allowed them to express their heartfelt vows openly, unburdened by the presence of others. They personalized their ceremony by creating a playlist of their favorite songs, one of which played softly in the background as they exchanged vows, heightening the emotional experience and making their special day even more memorable.
Picnic Lunch at a Cozy Cabin
After their heartfelt Redwood elopement ceremony, Betsy and Rick retreated to their cozy cabin for a relaxed picnic lunch. Betsy had brought a beautifully arranged charcuterie board, which they shared while soaking in the warm, tranquil outdoors. As they enjoyed the delicious assortment of meats, cheeses, and fruits, they took the time to call and share the joyous news with loved ones. The serene surroundings and the connection with their family and friends added a perfect touch to their unforgettable day. As they ate lunch, I also took a lunch break and signed their marriage license, making their elopement ceremony official!
Rugged Cliffside Elopement Photography at Garrappata State Park With Ocean Views
For their elopement photography creative portrait session, Betsy and Rick ventured to Garrapata State Park, immersing themselves in the rugged beauty of the coastline and cliffs. The perfect warm day, illuminated by bright sunlight, set the stage for an enchanting photo shoot. The ocean’s sparkling shades of aqua and blue provided a breathtaking backdrop as they explored the stunning landscape.
Big Sur River and Dinner With A View
Venturing south into the quaint town of Big Sur, Betsy and Rick paused at the serene river for a few picturesque photos, capturing the tranquility of the moment. Afterwards, they indulged in a short dinner break. They savored the local flavors and soaking in the charming ambiance of the town. It was a peaceful interlude amidst their adventurous day, allowing them to pause, reflect, and cherish the intimate moments shared throughout their elopement journey.
Beach Picnic with Cupcakes and Champagne
As the evening approached, Betsy and Rick made their way to Pfeiffer Beach for a breathtaking sunset experience. Betsy had thoughtfully planned a beach picnic, complete with their favorite cupcakes and personalized touches. Adding an extra layer of romance to their elopement. The sound of the waves crashed against the shore and the golden hues of the sun painting the sky. They reflecting on the journey that brought them to this beautiful moment. The brilliant sunset served as a perfect backdrop, casting a warm glow over their love and commemorating their special day as they sipped champagne and enjoyed eachother’s company.

During the sunset beach elopement photography session, capturing Betsy and Rick was a delightful experience filled with joy and spontaneity. As dusk settled over the rugged California coastline, we concluded the photography session by venturing up to a lookout point with sweeping views of the majestic scenery. The warm pink afterglow of the sun painted the sky, casting a romantic aura over Betsy and Rick’s elopement journey. To add a touch of whimsy and charm, we incorporated fun lantern props, enhancing the magical atmosphere of the moment. Against the backdrop of the breathtaking vista, Betsy and Rick embraced each other.
