David and Zach’s elopement in Hidden Valley, Joshua Tree was nothing short of magical. With the park’s vast landscapes, dramatic rock formations, and endless desert skies, their intimate celebration was the perfect blend of romance and adventure.

Plus, its proximity to Palm Springs—one of the most gay-friendly cities in the U.S.—makes it even more appealing for a romantic getaway or honeymoon.
A Thoughtfully Curated Wedding Theme
David and Zach’s burnt orange and blue color palette was absolutely breathtaking against the warm desert tones of Joshua Tree. From their personalized details to their attire, every detail was carefully chosen to complement the stunning landscape. Their vision came together beautifully, making their day feel both stylish and deeply personal.
Hidden Valley Picnic Area Ceremony
The couple chose Hidden Valley Picnic Area—one of the park’s approved wedding locations—for their ceremony. This scenic 1-mile loop trail offers just the right amount of adventure while remaining accessible and picturesque. They found a secluded spot along the trail to exchange heartfelt vows, surrounded by towering rock formations and golden-hued desert flora.
A Day Full of Adventure
After their ceremony, we explored the Hidden Valley trail, capturing candid and creative wedding photos along the way. Fellow hikers congratulated them, adding to the joy of the moment. Later, we met up again for a breathtaking sunset session at Arch Rock, where they cut their wedding cake—handmade by Zach himself!
Starry Night Wedding Astrophotography
As night fell, we ended the day with some astrophotography under Joshua Tree’s dark skies. With shooting stars and the Milky Way above them, David and Zach’s wedding photos became even more magical. Hidden Valley in Joshua Tree was the perfect setting for their unforgettable elopement.
