Andrea and Kevin’s intimate Joshua Tree wedding began at their house in Joshua Tree. Thy have been together for more than a decade, and being their second marriage, they wanted to simplify things and keep things more casual, focused on their families and the important parts of the wedding day such as portraits of the two of them as well as the family pictures and the ceremony. They wanted to focus more on what truly matters. Love. The first and very important reason to elope!

DIY Wedding Decor
One of the many things I loved about Andrea and Kevin’s elopement was how amazing Andrea’s mom was! She was a rockstar throughout the day! The family used to own a store similar to Hallmark, so she had an eye for displays and decided to make all the flowers and the arch for the wedding which were very bohemian vibes, AND she officiated the wedding too!! She seriously killed it! Not only did it save money for their wedding it was such a special way to bond with one another.
Side note* I do not recommend delegating planning tasks or day-of wedding tasks to family members just to save money, or even because you may think they might enjoy it. It often ends up stressing people out if they are given a task they are not used to doing. It’s important to do DIY projects only for the right reasons. DIY can be great to add a little personalization to your day, but only if it’s naturally your strength, and only if the other person sincerely offers to do it. I truly believe that taking on too many DIY wedding projects is a recipe for causing unnecessary stress so always make sure to do it for the right reasons!

Elopement Location
Andrea and Kevin decided they wanted a small intimate elopement so they decided to have their wedding at their second home in Joshua Tree right in their backyard, somewhere that was truly special to them. It was gorgeous especially because of all the DIY decorations Andrea’s mom did, it was the perfect Joshua True ambiance. You can have a big adventure for your elopement or you can rent out an Air BnB and elope in a new area or elope at your home just like Andrea and Kevin. The options are truly endless!

One of my favorite things about elopements in Joshua Tree is that it feels like you are in a different state it has unique desert landscapes, wild plant life, and picture-perfect sunsets combined to create an otherworldly destination to tie the knot in. While also offering those boho vibes that look so magical on camera.
