Makayla and Samantha’s LGBTQ+ Yosemite elopement in California was nothing short of magical! Traveling all the way from Tennessee, they knew from the start that Yosemite was the perfect place to say their vows amidst nature’s grandeur. Their elopement took place on a beautiful summer day, with the weather cooperating perfectly—ideal for a hike in one of the most breathtaking landscapes in the world.

Personalized Elopement Details

Makayla and Samantha came well-prepared for their adventure, each with a matching backpack and sturdy hiking boots. I absolutely love when couples bring their own personalized touches to their elopement, and Makayla and Samantha did just that. Along with their hiking gear, they brought along some fun and meaningful accessories: lanterns, an elopement bouquet, personalized vow books, a custom ring box, and wooden signs that Samantha hand-painted herself! These little details, etched with their names and wedding date, added so much spirit to the day and truly made it their own.

Yosemite Mountain Elopement

We set off on the trail in the early afternoon, hiking a few miles while soaking in the stunning vistas and scenic beauty that Yosemite is known for. Along the way, we chatted and laughed, pausing occasionally for them to fully appreciate the surroundings. Partway through our hike, Makayla and Samantha changed into their wedding attire right on the trail. We created a special moment for their “first look.” The joy on Samantha’s face as she saw Makayla in her dress for the first time was absolutely priceless!

Intimate Sunset Ceremony

We continued our hike to the elopement ceremony location, where Makayla and Samantha exchanged their intimate and heartfelt vows. The warm glow of the sunset over the mountains as their backdrop. It was a moment of pure love and connection.

As the evening unfolded, we spent time capturing memorable photos around Yosemite’s majestic cliffs. We stayed until after sunset, taking advantage of the “blue hour” for some stunning lantern-lit and night photography. The combination of their love, the beautiful setting, and those special personal touches made Makayla and Samantha’s Yosemite elopement a truly unforgettable experience.
