We kicked things off bright and early at their charming Big Sur cabin tucked away in the forest. Mary had her hair and makeup done by my favorite artist duo (who always make my brides look incredible!). First Look + Ceremony in the Redwoods 🌿📖
Mary always dreamed of getting married among the Redwoods. While she initially looked into Muir Woods, she found out that Big Sur offered a more private experience with easier logistics (and fewer permits!). It ended up being the perfect call.
Their first look in the forest was peaceful and intimate. Morning light filtered through the towering trees, and the only sounds were the birds and their laughter. Their ceremony was simple, heartfelt, and exactly what an elopement should be — just the two of them and the moment.
Cake, Champagne & Clifftop Adventures 🍰🥂🌊
After the ceremony, we celebrated with elopement cake and a champagne toast at their cabin. Then we headed to Pfeiffer Beach — one of my favorite Big Sur elopement locations! Full transparency though: it was very windy 💨 (as it often is), so it’s always smart to bring a hair tie, a warm layer, and an adventurous attitude.
From there, we drove north to explore Big Sur’s dramatic cliffsides, catching golden hour light that looked like it was straight out of a fairytale ✨ As the sun set, Mary and Bryan danced barefoot on the beach — a picture-perfect ending to their coastal adventure.
