Megan and Curtis’s Yosemite mountain hiking elopement was nothing short of magical, filled with the perfect blend of adventure, spontaneity, and romance. Their story began when they received the coveted Half Dome permit, granting them access to one of Yosemite National Park’s most iconic hikes. Instead of just celebrating this achievement, they decided to make it even more memorable by eloping at the summit. This incredible decision speaks volumes about their adventurous spirits and ability to seize the moment.
Yosemite Hiking Elopement
When Megan and Curtis first reached out to me, they made it clear that hiking and exploring the beauty of Yosemite were integral parts of their dream elopement. I was immediately excited by their vision, especially when they rolled up in their sprinter van, ready for anything the day might bring. It was evident that they were the perfect couple for a mountain hiking elopement adventure in Yosemite National Park.
We set out on one of my favorite trails, which offers stunning views of three waterfalls and panoramic 360-degree vistas of the park. The day was warm and sunny—a quintessential summer day in Yosemite. Megan and Curtis hiked part of the trail in their regular hiking clothes. And then changed into their wedding attire in my pop-up dressing tent! I love when couples blend the ruggedness of the adventure with the elegance of their special day.
Taft Point Elopement Ceremony
As the sun began to set, we reached a secluded overlook that offered the most breathtaking views imaginable. It was there, with the park’s grandeur as their witness, that Megan and Curtis shared their vows. The quiet, intimate setting made their elopement ceremony even more special—they had the entire place to themselves. After their heartfelt exchange of vows, they toasted with champagne! They celebrated not only their love for each other but also their shared passion for the great outdoors.
