Best Time of Year To Elope In Malibu
Choosing November for their elopement was their idea, but also a month that I’m very fond of when it comes to eloping on the beaches of Malibu for several reasons. The weather in Malibu was still delightfully warm, and the summer crowds had long bid farewell. The decision to elope during sunset added a touch of magic to the ceremony. Although the sun chose not to make a grand appearance that day, the light cloud cover created a soft, romantic ambiance, offering perfect conditions for photography.

Surrounded by their closest confidants, including Luzy’s daughter and mother, as well as Peter’s best friend, the couple embarked on this journey together. The intimate gathering provided unwavering support as Luzy and Peter exchanged vows and sealed their commitment to each other. Their sweet demeanor and preference for a more private celebration made the Malibu beach the ideal backdrop for their special day. And of course, I pronounced them married and signed as their officiant on their marriage license! So many couples LOVE that option!

As their dedicated Malibu elopement photographer, I seized the opportunity during the “Blue Hour” – that magical time after sunset but before darkness fully sets in. To add a creative touch, we incorporated lanterns into the photos, resulting in some of the most captivating beach images I’ve ever captured. The soft hues of the sky blended seamlessly with the gentle glow of the lanterns, creating an ethereal atmosphere that mirrored the couple’s love.
