But you still might be wondering how to plan out your adventure. Don’t worry—that’s where I come in. From a detailed discovery call to understand you better, to creating the ideal day-of timeline, to handling all logistics, I’m here to help.
You’re stoked to explore the breathtaking beauty of Hawaii.
You’re relieved to let go of the stress of planning a big wedding.
You’re excited to elope for a “just us” experience.
The Na'pali coast on Kauai is one of the most stunning wilderness areas I've had the pleasure of experiencing. There's a trail along the top ridge (pictured) that makes for a great adventure and an epic spot to exchange vows.
There are incredible beaches along Kauai's northern town of Hanalei and eastern shore area - many of which are kept secret! I've had the good fortune of discovering many of these beaches that make for a stunning location for your ceremony and portraits!
If you are like me and love the lush green and misty mountain peaks, you are going to love the Ko'olau Range on O'ahu. (The famous Pali Puka trail is at the top of this range.) Although I don't recommend that hike for your ceremony or portraits unless you are very comfortable with heights, the Ko'olau mountain range makes for an awesome backdrop!
I'm always up for an adventure that involves water! Especially in Hawaii because the water is so warm! I've seen countless sea turtles and colorful fish while snorkeling and scuba diving, so I definitely recommend this activity while on your trip!
If you are up for a hike through a canyon, Waimea is comparable to Haleakalā canyon on Maui. There are hiking trails that will take you to waterfalls and breathtaking views. This was one of my favorite hikes while on Kauai! If you aren't a big fan of lots of hiking, you can always tour it by helicopter.
Twin Falls on Maui is one of the more popular waterfalls, but it's a lovely area and accessible for many. If you are wanting to invite a few family members and have your ceremony by a waterfall, I recommend this one.
Haleakalā National Park on Maui is known for it's incredible sunrises, which I can personally attest! But Haleakalā Crater is also a really unique area that I've hiked and can make for a great elopement spot. The colors in the crater are unexpected and it looks like Iceland, but much warmer!
Red Sands beach is technically a nude beach..but when I was there, I had the place to myself! (No, I wasn't nude, ha!) It's a bit obscure to get to, and takes effort because you have to take The Road To Hana to get there, but the red sand quality is unlike the other beaches in Maui.
Kīlauea volcano on Hawai'i island - better known as "Big Island" is something that's indescribable until you see it in person. I've come to love Big Island over the years because it's much less populated with tourists that the other islands and has just as much to offer.. Each island has very distinct features that sets them a part from each other!
Perhaps all this hiking isn't really your thing! Maybe going to a botanical garden is more your speed. Although you won't be able to get pictures on top of a hill with a view, you'll be able to take in all the detail in the flora of Hawaii. One of my favorite trees is the rainbow eucalyptus!
The view at Haleakalā at sunrise is very accessible! If accessibility is your jam, (such as wanting to have some family members join you) you can have incredible photos that look like you are on top of the world just a few steps away from the parking lot! Note: you will have to walk a little ways to get away from the tourists who come to watch the sunrise.
I think it goes without saying that most people go to Hawaii for its beaches! I have favorite beaches on all the islands, but I have to say, there's something about the water on O'ahu that's a little extra light turquoise blue. The best thing about Hawaii is that you have it all: sandy beaches, rainforest mountain ranges, desert, waterfalls, the list goes on!
"Jennifer's keen eye and dedication to such a stylistic approach have us loving each and every single picture captured. It was more than a pleasure to have her with us every step of that day; it was like hanging with two gal pals! We could not have asked for any better artistic vision than hers. We would highly recommend Jennifer's talent to each and every couple out there that wants something fresh and unique when considering a photographer."
"Jenn captures every moment at every angle. This isn't your traditional photography! This is a new age of photography where the surroundings become as important as the people! The beauty of laughter, angles, and exposure bring out perfect pictures! You will have a hard time choosing which photos you want in your album!”
“We hired Jenn to take our engagement photos out in Joshua Tree. She straight-up SLAYED every photo, spent so much time with us, and was so fun to work with. I cannot recommend her enough. I say this as an art director who works with photographers on photoshoots all the time at my job: hire this woman! You won't regret it.”
“We were thrilled with how the photos turned out. Jenn is a very skilled editor and has a wonderful aesthetic. I knew it would be difficult for my photographer husband to find a wedding photographer who he trusted, but we are both so glad that Jenn shot our wedding. She will make your vision come true and is an absolute pleasure to work with.”
