To say Jock and Audrey’s Red Sands Beach Elopement was absolutely incredible would be an understatement! Jock and Audrey had been to Maui a few in the past for vacation and knew it was the perfect place for them to get eloped. When they reached out to plan their Hawaii elopement we were discussing a few different unique locations on the island such as the Red Sand Beach as well as the Black Sand beach in Hana. After speaking about this it was apparent to us that we had to make their elopement day a “Road trip to Hana” as we were going to be in that area most of the day! Both Jock and Audrey wanted to have a fun adventurous elopement and this had everything they both wanted!
Jock and Audrey decided on my 8-hour Hawaii elopement package for their Red Sands beach elopement. My Hawaii elopement packages consist of two different packages, either a 12-hour package spread out within two days or an 8-hour full-day package. Jock and Audrey didn’t have more than one day planned out or I would have suggested the bigger package as I did with a couple before them, to see what a full 12-hour package would consist of from Ayla and Dominic’s Maui elopement. Although keep in mind that the road to Hana is very narrow and curvy, so with making stops along the way, it takes several hours. Depending on how many tourists are on the island, it can take even longer with more cars on the road.
We started the day off with Audrey getting her hair and makeup done in the morning and then met at the beginning of the road to Hana in Hoku. One of my favorite things about Road to Hana is not only the beautiful scenery you are surrounded by during the whole drive but the fact that you can make stops along the way to treat yourself to delicious food from food stands and trucks as well as see a couple of different breathtaking waterfalls. We of course did both and got some fun candids of Jock and Audrey, documenting them exploring around and having a snack.
One thing that Audrey did that I loved was that she decided not to wear her wedding dress the whole entire day. I’m noticing more and more that eloping brides don’t always want to wear their wedding dress all day, so instead, she brought a more casual outfit for the car ride and changed it later in the day for their elopement ceremony. Just a reminder, that you don’t have to wear your wedding dress the whole day! Depending on your situation, if you want to wear a separate outfit, go ahead! Your day, your rules!
After stopping for some snacks and candids we headed to the beach for their Red Sands Beach elopement. The Red Sand beach trail is super short and sweet, and insanely gorgeous. What I love about this trail is that regular sandals are just fine for this walk or you can even go barefoot. Which Audrey decided to do for most of it! Both Audrey and Jock were a ball of fun! They let loose with their toes in the sand, Audrey was twirling around in her stunning dress and when it started sprinkling, they just rolled with it as if there wasn’t a single drop in the sky! The weather in Hawaii is very unpredictable so it’s always best to roll with the punches.
As the clouds started to roll in we decided it was best to head to the Black Sands beach. It was getting pretty close to raining, so both Audrey and Jock shared their personal vows, and then we had some fun running around on the rainy beach before getting completely soaked. But neither Jock nor Audrey had a care in the world, Audrey was giving into the rain and having so much fun. Anyone that’s spent a decent amount of time visiting the islands, knows what they are getting themselves into in terms of spurts of rain such as Audrey and Jock.
Audrey and Jock’s Red sands beach elopement was one to remember! Both Red Sand Beach and Black Sand beach in Hana are one of the most unique beaches I’ve ever visited in the world!
