Kelly and Peter’s Point Dume Malibu elopement wedding with family was a blast to photograph and help them plan! Kelly and Peter have been together for 10 years! Planning a big event was not something that Kelly had much interest in, so with their families already planning a visit from the east coast to Los Angeles, they thought, “Hey, why not get hitched while they’re in town?” In less than a month, they transformed their family gathering into a dreamy beach elopement, complete with belly laughs and memories for a lifetime.
Sunrise Elopement Ceremony – Pro Tip!
When it comes to eloping in the summertime in Malibu, it’s always best to do an early morning sunrise elopement session. During the summer, the beaches and parking lots will be packed during the day and throughout sunset. When Kelly and Peter wanted to elope on a Friday, I knew that it was in their best interest to do a morning session. And sure enough, we had the whole beach to ourselves! (minus some chill rock climbers next to us). As the group made their way to the beach, they were greeted with a warm sunny morning. Contrary to the typical “June gloom” often experienced this time of year, the weather decided to align with the couple’s joyous occasion. The bright sun added an extra sparkle to the day, illuminating the coastal landscape of Point Dume.

Against the backdrop of the vast ocean, Kelly and Peter exchanged personal vows, pouring their hearts out to one another. Standing beside them was their dear friend, who officiated the ceremony with warmth and love. Surrounded by their immediate family members, the sound of crashing waves, and the salty ocean breeze, their union was sealed with promises of a lifetime together.

Elopement Brunch
After the ceremony, they celebrated with family as we ran around the beach outrunning the waves. And right in the nick of time before other tourists started showing up to the beach, we were done and they headed off to their morning brunch reservation with the family!
