Cameron and Sierra knew from the beginning that they wanted to have a Catalina Island Adventure Elopement, as it holds breathtaking views, charming scenery, and a unique island experience. There are no other locations like it here in California, it photographs in such a pleasant way with all the pastel colors and soft light. This was the perfect location for Cameron and Sierra, not a single other location ever crossed their mind!
Cameron and Sierra chose Catalina Island as “the” spot to get eloped not only because of its stunning scenery but because they have a deep connection and sentimental value to the island.
They decided on a small intimate elopement with their immediate family on Avalon as Serria is entirely in love with Avalon’s colorful buildings and aesthetic. When planning an elopement you can choose to either have it be a “Just us” elopement or a small intimate elopement with your closest loved ones. There are no rules when planning your special day, it’s your day, which means you get to choose!
Catalina Island Adventure Elopement Itinerary
I started the day off by taking the ferry to Catalina Island, one of the best ways to get there in my opinion. If you didn’t know, there are two ways to get to Catalina Island, by sea, or by air. What I love about taking the ferries is that they are pretty quick, they will have you on the island in roughly an hour! Both of the ferry companies offer reasonably priced tickets, and as most visitors and residents get around the island by foot, bike, or golf cart we opted to take the golf cart. These are available to rent by the hour or by the entire day. There are also minivan taxi cabs available for a cheaper rate than renting a golf cart, or you can take an E-bike which always adds some fun too!
Elopement Ceremony
After arriving at their hotel by golf cart in downtown Avalon we headed to Vista Point for their Catalina Island Adventure elopement ceremony. This is one of my favorite spots on the island! A remarkable viewpoint overlooking Avalon. My jaw drops every time I come up here as it gets more and more astounding! We took several photos here while we waited for the family members to arrive via taxi and then both Cameron and Sierra exchanged their vows.
But we didn’t stop there! Both Sierra and Cameron were beyond excited to step into the ocean and get some fun ocean portraits before the day ended so the three of us walked down to the beach to take beautiful photos.
To conclude the day we headed back into town and went to their favorite restaurant for dinner with their loved ones, it was such a peaceful and stress-free way to end their special day.
One of my favorite things about taking Cameron and Sierra’s Catalina Island Adventure elopement photos was getting to know and experience the love they have for one another. They have dated since high school and have been together for 10 years! Cameron even has a nickname for Sierra called “Goose” which is SO adorable! These two are love birds and get along exceptionally well. There wasn’t a second throughout the day that they didn’t exchange laughter and were having a blast.
Congrats Cameron and Sierra!
